Spring Festival '09 - A Report
Dover May 30th 2009, IUSD most awaited event ‘Spring Festival’ was held at Wesley college Dover campus. Event started at 12:00PM with food Bazaar, where volunteers cooked the specialty food from North and South India; Children baked cup cakes and cookies. All proceeds donated to the IUSD fund. Avani jewelers from NJ and Dipak & Srilekha Middletown had tables for their business display.
Second half was scheduled for the Performances, over 50 children from all age groups participated to present 15 group and individual dance performances. Around 200 people attend the event. Galen Giaccone, Miss Delaware 2008 was guest of honor. Maria Ruffin, President Dover’s Cultural Exchange was special guest.

Survey
IUSD Executive commitee has decided to conduct a brief survery from the community members. Questioneris have been sent out to 42 randomly selected members. Survery process will be completed by end of Jan'09.




History Behind

India US Society of Delaware, a non-profit organization was established in 1997 for serving the Indians and Americans living in Kent and Sussex county. Their mission is to help integrate the cultural differences and serve the local community by organizing various cultural events, charitable donations, support groups and attending other local events which are non secular. Currently we have 31 life members, 50 Annual family members and 3 Annual Individual members.
India U.S Society of Delaware was form in 1997 and registered in Delaware under Social Club under Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c) (07). The Employer Identification Number for the Society is 51-0380258.

Origanization has the following Objectives.

a. To sustain and perpetuate the cultural heritage of India among the Indian community in the State of Delaware;
b. To work for the general civic, moral and social benefit and welfare of the members of the Society;
c. To promote inter-cultural activities in Delaware community for better awareness of Indian heritage and community relations;
d. To form affiliation and cooperation with other national and regional organizations for common cause of Indian nationals in U.S.;
e. To seek donations and other forms of financial support for meeting the Society’s efforts, as permissible under the IRS Code.
