The Power of ONE - Saturday Apr 25th at 6:00PM

The members of the Dover’s Cultural Exchange along with the Be Educated Movement Inc. www.beeducated.org are celebrating the Second Annual Fund Raising Event, The Power of ONE, on Saturday, April 25, 2009 staring at 6:00PM, at the Dover Art League, Dover, Delaware. The Event’s theme, The Power of ONE, is about the capacity of one person to change the life of a child through education and the power of one child to potentially change the whole world.expecting distinguished guests and keynote speakers, such as Mayor of Dover - Carleton E. Carey Sr., Miss Delaware - Galen Giaccone, Brittany Dempsey, State senator Brian Bushweller and Sharon Katz of Peace Train to grace this occasion. The proceeds from this year’s event will again go to support the same programs:

Dover Art League - Summer children’s art scholarship program
Dover Central Middle School scholarship program
Peace Train - Helping children with Aids in Africa through music and performing arts

Old Dover Days - May 2nd 2009

The Old Dover Days Festival has existed in one form or another in Delaware’s Capital City, Dover, since 1933. It is held on The Green and Legislative Mall, two beautiful outdoor parks in our historic downtown district. Traditional elements and new components bring in thousands of visitors each year with attendance reaching 15,000+.There is no admission fee to the festival and parking is plentiful and free. A large portion of our vendors return year after year. Old Dover Days is a celebration of the First State’s Capital City and features a parade, maypole dancing, food court, reenactors, walking tours, free entertainment and much more!
